Concealed LED Cove and Linear Lighting

In good cove lighting you never see the lamp — only the light gliding down the wall.

  • High-Density Strip: A Line of Light, Not Dots
  • Mounted in Aluminium Profile — Double Lifespan
  • Colour Temperature & Dimmer Scenes Matched to the Room
  • Contractual Workmanship Warranty
Concealed LED Cove and Linear Lighting

Cove lighting moves illumination from fixtures into the architecture: indirect light gliding around the ceiling perimeter gives a room breadth and hotel-grade comfort. Quality hangs on three decisions: strip density (high LEDs-per-metre for a continuous line, not dots), colour temperature matched to the space (2700K living warmth, 4000K work clarity) and driver quality (a cheap driver means flicker and early failure).

EMC Decor engineers the cove together with the drywall detail: step depth is calculated from how far the light should wash down the wall, strips are mounted in aluminium profiles (heat dissipation doubles lifespan), and dimmers and scene switches are placed around how you actually live. The result isn't a film set — it's your own home, better lit every evening.

Why EMC Decor

A continuous line of light: high-density strip, no visible dots

Mounted in aluminium profile — heat dissipation, double lifespan

Quality drivers and dimmers: flicker-free, scene-controlled light

Cove depth calculated for the light wash — no glare

The Challenges You Face, Our Fix

RISK 01: Individual LED dots visible instead of a smooth light line

SOLUTION: We use high-density quality strip and calculate the cove depth for the correct light wash.

RISK 02: A cheap strip yellowing and flickering within 1-2 years

SOLUTION: We mount the strip inside a heat-dissipating aluminium profile and power it with a quality flicker-free driver.

RISK 03: Wrong colour temperature making the room feel cold or clinical

SOLUTION: We select 2700K warm light for living/bedrooms and 4000K clear light for work areas, agreed at the survey.

What This Service Includes

1. Lighting Plan & Colour Temperature

Cove routes, colour temperature and scene plan set to how the space is used.

  • Routing the cove against the furniture plan
  • Colour temperature chosen per zone (2700K/4000K)
  • Layout plan for dimmers and scene switches

2. Drywall Detail & Cove Depth

Step/niche construction, driver access hatches, and cable routing.

  • Cove depth calculated for the intended light wash
  • Access hatches left for drivers and transformers
  • Strip and driver cabling routed inside the cove

3. Installation & Scene Tuning

Profile and strip mounting, driver connections, and brightness/colour tuning.

  • Fixing the strip into the aluminium profile
  • Testing driver and dimmer connections
  • Assigning scenes to switches or the app

Process

  1. Lighting Plan

Cove routes, colour temperatures and scene plan based on how the space is used.

    Duration: 1 day

  2. Quote & Contract

A per-metre price quote and the strip/dimmer class are put in writing.

    Duration: 1 day

  3. Drywall Detail

Step/niche construction, driver access hatches and cabling.

    Duration: 1–2 days

  4. Installation

Profile and strip mounting, driver connections, dimmer set-up.

    Duration: 1 day

  5. Scene Tuning

Brightness and colour tuning, scenes assigned to switches or the app.

    Duration: 0.5 day

Cove lighting is priced per linear metre; strip class and dimming are separate quote items.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do LED strips last?

LED system life depends on strip and driver quality, operating temperature, heat management through the aluminium profile, usage and manufacturer ratings. Products are selected against those data.

If a strip fails, does the ceiling get demolished?

No — strips sit in the open cove and drivers behind access hatches; replacement is done without touching the ceiling.

Can a cove be added to an existing ceiling?

Yes — a perimeter cove can be added without redoing the ceiling; it's a 1–2 day job and the existing paint is only touched up around the new band.
